Requirements For Starting a Home-Based Business
November 26, 2009
Your business must be legal, legitimate, safe, and real. The following points are the most important issues you will need to consider and implement to ensure a trouble free home-based-enterprise.
a) Write a Business Plan; a well prepared business plan will help you to run your own business smoothly. Business plans are needed to raise finance for a new venture, sell business or to provide a blueprint for management in the future. Without such a plan, no bank, venture capital house or any other financier, for that matter, will consider finance for a start-up.
b) You’re Business Identity; you need to decide which type of business entity you want to start. There are these 3 categories to choose from-
1. Sole Proprietorship
2. Partnership
3. Corporation
c) Register Your Business with the necessary Authorities; this is important because you need a legal business name, license or a reseller certificate and all other permits that your local state laws may demand.
d) Insure Your Business Start-up; this will ensure you have adequate business security incase of any misfortune occurring. Does this before you start operating?
e) Equip Your Business adequately; purchase all the necessary equipment and have it installed before you open the doors to your customers. The computer, Fax, Telephone, Furniture, printers, Scanner, Camera, etc.
f) Have Your Website up and Running; its time to create your business website. Have it done professionally because you need it to be business and user friendly.
g) You’re Work Schedule; like in any other business, you need a working schedule because professionalism is required even in home-based-business. Time management is essential otherwise you might not realize your home business dream.
h) Organize Your Operations; a) Inventory-ensure quick turnaround time, easily accessible, clean environment and proper handling. b) Be Shipping Ready-avail all shipping supplies in advance, e.g. labels, labels, wrappers, boxes, shipping tape, envelopes, etc.
i) Launch Your Business; if you have done all the above, you may open the doors to the public now!
Thanks for your visit,
Steve.
